Tropical Escape - Project Redo - SBTD Blog Hop July 2018

Hello Hivers,

Welcome to the July's Stampers By The Dozen Blog Hop.  This month we are bringing you projects that are redos of one of our earlier works.  This will be so much fun.  I have decided to redo my very first blog post from August 2008 using products from the current annual catalog.

A Blast From the Past

For todays project I am using items from the Tropical Escape Suite along with a few items from the Darling Label Punch Box.  As with any CASE project, I will change a few things but keep with the general design of the original project.

Project  Redo

Since the original project was a bag, I thought I would make a bag as well.  Any excuse to make a 3D project :).  Here are two mini bags that can hold a few chocolate candies such as Hershey's Kisses or Nuggets.

Bag Measurements

I decorated with 2 pieces of DSP measuring 1-5/8" x 3-1/8"

Smaller Bag
6" x 3.5"
DSP (2) 1.5" x 2.5"
Score long side at: 1-5/8", 2-5/8", 4.25", 5.25"
Score short side at: 7/8" (optional* sides only 1-7/8")

One Last Look

Just a reminder...The Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper,  used on these projects, is included in the BUY 3 GET 1 FREE sale for the month of July.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit to the Hive today.  Sooo...What did you think of my projects for this Hop?  Leave a comment and let me know.

Remember, this is a Blog Hop, the excitement continues...

Hop on over to Carly's blog...she is up next in the Blog Hop.

Pineapple Treat Box

Hello Hivers,

Here is another project I made to take on my cruise.  I gave these out to my dinner table mates the night of the Captain's Dinner.   I had a few extra so I gave one to our room attendant on the last night of the cruise and the others went to random people at breakfast. They were a big hit.  I filled each of them with 3 pepper mints and a Help Whip Cancer pin from the Pampered Chef.  I got the tutorial for this wonderful little Pineapple Treat Box from The Paper Pixie.  She has written measurements and a video tutorial on her blog.

Spooky Night Popcorn Treat Bag

Hello Hivers,

Here's a great spooky treat bag.  I found the instructions on Pinterest and now and I can't find them to share.  I used the Spooky Night DSP along with the Spooky Cat stamp set.  I punched out an window with the Starburst Punch and put a Window Sheet in the opening.  I filled the bag with Caramel Apple Popcorn.   I finished decorating with a banner and some Black Shimmer Ribbon.

Spooky Night Designer Series Paper Treat Pouch

Hello Hivers,

How are you loving the new 2017 Holiday Catalog?  Isn't it great!? I am having a ball making all sorts of things with all my goodies.  Today I am sharing a treat pouch that I put together using the Spooky Cat stamp set and the Spooky Night DSP.  The pouch holds about 7 of the Pixy Stix.  I cut a window in the pouch using the Everyday Label Punch and added a small piece of Window Sheet.  The sentiment was cut out using the Wood Crate Framelits.

Side Note:  The Halloween Night Baker's Twine I used is retired.

Faceted Box

Hello Hivers,

This is a simple Faceted Box I found on Pinterest.  Don't you just love that website?  I do.  Any who...I found a video tutorial by Carola Tidl-LielanLinz.  It's not in English but it is very easy to follow along.  I used the Candy Cane Lane DSP along with Real Red card stock to make this project.

Late Christmas Post

Hello Hivers,

OMG!  I can't believe that I forgot to post this project.  I don't even remember where I found the instructions....although I'm sure it was on Pinterest.  I gave these out to a few teachers at my daughters school.  Just a little treat to show our appreciation for all that they do.

Two Way Poppers

Hello Hivers,

I found a video tutorial on Pinterest for these cute boxes.  The young lady called the Half Popper Boxes.         I am calling them Two Way Poppers because you can leave them in one of two ways.  Popped up like shown in the first photo or remove the ribbon and push it down as shown in the bottom photo.  I am not sure which way I like more.  They are both cute.  I feel as though these boxes need a tag or something.  They just don't seem complete.  Maybe I will add it before I give them to their recipient.

Thanks for buzzzing by the Hive today.

Warm Wishes

Hello Hivers,

Have I told you lately how much I love the 2016 Holiday Catalog?  Well, I do!  Everything looks so great.  I have been working on ways to showcase the DSP.

Here I have made a card with a matching sour cream container type treat holder.  I love how all the pieces from the Pretty Pines thinlits layer together.  The sentiment on the card is from the Tin of Tags stamp set.  This stamp set, as you can see, is not just for making Gift Tags.

A Merry Welcome

Hello Hivers,

I just had to make a couple more of these cute little houses.  They really are addictive.  I have so many designs floating around in my mind.  For these two houses I used the stamp set, Sweet Home.  I stamped the images and then cut them out using the coordinating Home Sweet Home thinlits dies.  I chose to use Real Read, Whisper White, and Emerald Envy card stock.  I added a little Wink of Stella to the roof tops, window frames and the Vellum in  the windows.  I colored some Rhinestones to match the houses and added them as well.  Oh, the cute little mice are from the Merry Mice stamp set.

Most of these products can be found in the New Holiday Catalog all others will be in the Annual Catalog.  Just click on the image of the catalog to the left to view a PDF.

Cut hole in back panel for finger.  This is how you will open the back for treats.

Cut off bottom flap to leave house accessible in the back for treats.

Sweet Sugarplum

 Hello Hivers,

Okay, so I haven't started stamping yet.  I am having too much fun with these little houses.  I wanted to open my new packs of In Color paper and I decided on Sweet Sugarplum and Peekaboo Peach.  I love they way the Whisper White adds a pop of brightness.

I used the Tree Builder Punch to add the little flowers in the window boxes.   As you can see from the bottom photo, I decided not to close my house.  I wanted to make the inside accessible for treats.

As always, thanks for buzzzing by the Hive.

Home Sweet Home

Hello Hivers,

It feels so good to be back in my Stamping Hive.  I have missed it so much.  I finally had some time to sit and play with all my new tools.  The very first thing I made was this fun halloween house.  It is super cute, although I didn't do any stamping.

I used the Home Sweet Home Thinlits Dies to create all aspects of the house except for the roof.  I just had to use some of the new Pumpkin Pie Glimmer paper.

I will be sharing more houses, with different themes, in the near future.  I must say, making the houses are addictive.  You have so many options that you will just want to make an entire village.

Supplies:
Paper:  Pumpkin Pie Glimmer, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, Vellum, Basic Black
Ink:  Old Olive, Black Stampin' Write Marker
Accessories:  Home Sweet Home Thinlits Dies
Adhesive:  Tear & Tape, Dimensionals, Multipurpose, Glue Dots

Easter Treat Holder

Hello Hivers,

Here are a few of the treats I made for the children in my life.  I found the instructions for these cuties over on Pootles blog.  To make the shorter holders I just simply cut them in half.  I used different shades of each color to stamp on Whisper White card stock using the Work of Art stamp set.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set punched out using the Word Window punch.  I just used the back side of the piece that was punched from the treat holders.

One of my children is allergic to chocolate ( I know...the poor thing), so I filled his with his favorite candy...Nerds, the others held 9 Hershey chocolate eggs.  If I remember correctly, the shorter ones held 4 eggs.

Mini Treat Boxes

Hello Hivers,

I made these cute mini treat boxes that hold two Ferrero Rochers Truffles.  I watched the video tutorial by Linda Parker, HERE.

To the left, is a photo just to show how the boxes open.  The bottom picture is how you can store the boxes until you are ready to use them.

I used two of our current In Colors, Mossy Meadow and Pistachio Pudding.  I stamped both using the Mosaic Madness stamp set.

Treat Holders

Hello Hivers,

These cute little Treat Holders were created using a video tutorial by Stampin Texas Christi.  You can make three single treat holders from a single sheet of 8.5 x 11 sheet of card stock.  I adjusted her measurements to make a holder that holds 2 candies instead of just one.  I used the Ferrero Rocher candies in the holder.

Card Stock: Crisp Cantaloupe and Smokey Slate..Window Sheet
Ribbon: Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Early Espresso, and Silver
Punches: Curly Label and 1-1/4 Circle

Cake Anyone?

Hello Hivers,

Give your teacher his/her favorite treat.  This is what I made for the teachers on treat day.  I filled the cake boxes with goodies and packaged them in cello bags with a cute tag.  This was my first time making these.  I used the retired Petal Cone Bigz L die to create them.  I got the instructions from Penny Thomas over at penguistamper.  The directions are very easy to follow.  These would be great for any type of shower.  I really hate that the die has retired.  Twelve of these would make a complete cake.

Sweet Treat Box

Hello Hivers,

I don't know which I like better, the box or the treat inside.  I made these for my children's teachers on Valentines Day.  I know it's the end of June, but hey I am catching up with all my posting.  At least I am in the correct year now.

I got the instructions on how to create these cute little treat boxes from Connie Stewart over at Simply Simple Stamping.  Try saying that fast three times.

Heart Squared

Hello Hivers,
This Valentine goodie was inspired by another stamper. I can't find the original designer. Just know that I didn't come up with this one on my own.
My favorite part of this project is...No, not the candy....it is the Scalloped heart of Hearts Embosslits Die. I love the look and feel of it. I also used the Scalloped Square Bigz Clear Die.
