Happy Thoughts: Cap & Gown

Hello Hivers,

Today I am sharing a very unique card I made using the Happy Thoughts stamp set from Stampin' Up!.  This stamp set was perfect for this project.  Even the name of it describes what is going on.

My oldest child graduated from the University of Central Florida with his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (BFA) in Emerging Media with a focus in Experimental Animation.  I am so proud of him!  He has faced so many challenges with his education, but he never gave up.  He didn't succumb to the reality others were trying to paint for him.  Despite his learning disability, he pressed on.

I got the instructions for this card, HERE, from Glenda C.

As always, I want to thank you for Buzzzing by the Hive today.
Until next time....Buzzz you later.

Petal Palette Bundle SBTD Blog Hop April 2018

Hello Hivers,

Welcome to another monthly Stampers By The Dozen Blog Hop.  This month we are focusing on Bundles.  Bundles are items, when purchased together, have a 10% savings built into the cost.  The bundle of my choice for this hop is the Petal Palette Bundle.  I will actually be using a few items from the entire Petal Passion Suite.

Of course, I will be using the Petal Palette Bundle which includes the Petal Palette stamp set and the Petals & More Thinlits; but I will also be using the Petal Passion Memories & More Card Pack along with the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.  All of these items can be found in the 2018 Occasions Catalog on pages 22-24.
Note:  The stamp set and thinlits will be available in the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, but not at the 10% savings Bundled price.

Festive Phrases Gum Ball Box

Hello Hivers,

I made this cute little box to hold some gum balls.  I decorated it with the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.  I added a little window,  so that you could see what's inside the box, using the Hearth & Home thinlits.  The sentiment is from the Festive Phrases stamp set in the 2017 Holiday Catalog.

Christmas Around the World - Chocolate Box

Hello Hivers,

I love Stampin' Up! products.  They are so versatile.  When I seen the Christmas Around The World Designer Series Paper in the 2017 Holiday Catalog...I wasn't to impressed.  After watching videos showing the paper (both sides), I just had to have it.  I don't care for some of the paper in this pack, however, if you turn the sheet over there is a different design and I love it.

There was no stamping involved in the making of this project.  The sentiment was cut out of one of the sheets of DSP.  Oh, and those Foil Snowflakes are to die for.  They add such a touch of elegance to any project.  I also used the Gold Mini Sequin Trim and the Black 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon to complete this box.

I found the tutorial for this box on Pinterest, courtesy of Sam Hammond a.k.a. Pootles.

This is the candy that fits inside the box.  You can choose whatever you can find to fit inside.  It is pretty roomy in there.

Coffee Break Suite - Candy Box

Hello Hivers,

I decided to make a little box to hold some coffee flavored candy.  I found the tutorial on Pinterest for the box.  I can't remember who the originator is.

I used the Coffee Break Suite of products to decorate with.  I added one element from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.

Memories & More Storage Box *** 2017 Holiday Catalog is Live

Hello Hivers,

I was surfing Pinterest and came across this storage box.  It fits the Memories & More cards perfectly.  It can also fit standard size cards (USA).  Amanda Charlesworth did a great job on her tutorial for this box.  I made a few changes to mine.  I love the way the Pool Party looks with the dark and vibrant colors of the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP.

Instructions:

Decorate Storage Box:

Front:  6" x 2.75" (cardstock)  5.75" x 2.5" (DSP)

Back:  6" x 4" (cardstock)  5.75" x 3.75" (DSP)

Sides:  4" x 2.5" (cardstock x 2)  Measure up from bottom 2.75"  and make a mark.  Cut at angle from mark to opposite corner.  Repeat on second peice but on opposite side to get matching angles for the sides of the box.

Sides:  3.75" x 2.25" (DSP x 2)  Measure up from bottom 2.5" and make a mark.  Cut at angle from mark to opposite corner (1/4" down from top).  Repeat on second peice but on opposite side to get matching angles for the sides of the box.

File Dividers:

6-1/8" x 4.5" (Basic Black)
Place on Envelope Punch Board at 2" and punch.  Place on trimmer at 4-1/8" and cutt off edge along the top.

5-7/8" x 4.25" (Pool Party)
Place on Envelope Punch Board at 1-7/8" and punch.  Place on trimmer at 3-7/8" and cutt off edge along the top.

5-5/8" x 3-5/8" (DSP)

Ferrero Rocher - All Boxed Up

Hello Hivers,

Are you all loving the new In Colors as much as I am?  This Lemon Lime Twist is to die for.
Today I am sharing a little box that holds one Ferrero Rocher chocolate.  I found the tutorial by Heidi S. on Pinterest. She didn't exactly make these boxes with lids together, however, these are all her measurements.  I will share my version of her actual project next Wednesday.

I made two boxes using the Color Theory DSP, Dapper Denim, Whisper White and Lemon Lime Twist card stock.  The bow was made using the Bow Builder Punch.  I couldn't decide if I wanted the tails on or off the bow so I made one with each option.  I added a Glitter Enamel Dot in the middle of the Dapper Denim bow.

Measurements:

Box:  4.75" x 4.75"

Using the Envelope Punch Board
Punch and Score at: 1-3/8" and 3-3/8" on all four sides

Box Lid:  3.25" x 3.25" Score at: 3/8" and 7/8" on all four sides

As always, thanks for Buzzzing by the Hive today.

Color Theory Boxed Set

Hello Hivers,

I have been seeing these "Side Panel Cards" all over Pinterest.  I was inspired by Angelina, a demonstrator in the UK.

I used the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack along with the Colorful Seasons stamp set to create these cards. I even made matching envelopes and a box to put them all in.

Some of the cards have ribbon some have card stock in place of the ribbon.  For a little dazzle, I added the Glitter Enamel Dots and flowers cut from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.

Measurements:

Black Base: 4" x 11" Score at: 1/2", 2", 4", 5.5"
Berry Burst: 3.75" x 5.25" ( x 2 pieces)
Whisper White (or DSP): 3.5" x 5" ( x 2 pieces)

Berry Burst: 2.75" x 5.5" Score at: 1/2" and 2"
Basic Black: 2.5" x 3.25"
Whisper White (or DSP): 2.25" x 3"

As always, thanks for Buzzzing by the Hive today.
Until next time....Buzzz you later.
