March 2019 SBTD Blog Hop - Step It Up

Hello Hivers,

Welcome to another Stampers By The Dozen Blog Hop.  This month we are focusing on card designs.  What we have to do is design a simple card and then design a more stepped up version of that same card.

Here is the simple version of my cards.  I couldn't decide on what color to use so I made two cards.  I made the first in Smokey Slate and the other is Balmy Blue.  I used a little Pineapple Punch for the Honeybee.  The sentiment on all the cards came from the Host stamp set, Very Vintage.

SMOKEY SLATE SIMPLE CARD

BALMY BLUE SIMPLE CARD

For the Stepped Up version I added some framelits and bling into the mix.  For the Smokey Slate card I used the Rectangle Stitched Framelits and the other card uses the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
I also used the Be Mine Stitched Framlits on the Balmy Blue card.
Another difference in the cards are the centers.  On the Smokey Slate card the center is recessed and on the Balmy Blue card the center is raised.

Take a look.

Here's a close up of each card.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit to the Hive today.  Sooo...What did you think of my project for this Hop?  Leave a comment and let me know.

Remember, this is a Blog Hop, the excitement continues...

Hop on over to Carly's blog...she is up next in the Blog Hop.

Just Buzzin' By -- ATC

Hello Hivers,
Isn't this just the cutest stamp set?! I can't get enough of it. This is an Artist Trading Card (ATC). I made the image of the "Honeybee" and the sentiment in the same manner as the project from yesterday. I used the 1-1/4 and 1-3/8 Circle punch to layer the image of the bee. I stamped the flowers with VersaMark Ink on Summer Sun card stock and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and DD Glitter. I went around the flower with my white Gel Pen. I added a Basic Black Brad for a little something more. Finally I layered everything on Basic Black card stock. I hope you all like this project as much as I do. Thanks for visiting my hive. Have a "honey of a day".

Until next time.....

Matchbook Notepad/Calendar

Hello Hivers,
This is the first item I made to take to Regionals. This is my new favorite stamp set: Just Buzzin' By. I sponged Summer Sun Classic Ink all over the white matchbook. I wanted to have a little white showing through the yellow. I took some Black Grosgrain ribbon and attached it (with a Mini Glue Dot) to the top to cover the staple. I stamped the "Honeybee" image all over Whisper White card stock with Black StazOn. I colored it using Close to Cocoa, YoYo Yellow, and Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers. I covered the entire sheet with VersaMark Ink and poured a mixture of Clear Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter over it. After I heat embossed the image I punched each out with the Small Oval punch. I layered the image on Basic Black card stock punched out with the Designer Label punch. I added a black brad and popped it up with a dimensional. On the back is a picture of the honeypot. Mmmmmm...honey. LoL..... Thanks for buzzzing by.

Until next time.....
