Red, White, and Black Beautiful Peacock

Hello Hivers,

Todays card is featuring two of my favorite colors, Real Red and Basic Black.  I have used two Sale-A-Bration (SAB) items on the card.  I started with a piece of the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Paper and paired it with the Beautiful Peacock stamp set.  I really love the way this card turned out.  I thought the Layered Leaves 3D TIEF coordinated very well with the other elements on this project.  Wink of Stella and Rhinestone Jewels added just a bit more bling to this card.

Today is the last day for Sale-A-Bration.  I hate to see all of these wonderful products go.  The good news is that two of the SAB products will be carried over to the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.

As always, thanks for Buzzzing by the Hive today.

Happy Wishes Basket Weave

Hello Hivers,

This card is super pretty in person.  The photos just don't do it justice.  I took several pictures to try and capture the beauty of this card.

I used the Basket Weave 3D Dynamic TIEF along with the Springtime Foils SDSP.  The sentiment comes from the Happy Wishes stamp set.  I used Sponge Daubers to color the background.  I used Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, and Pear Pizzazz.  I even added a Glitter Enamel Dot.  So cute!

Let's Celebrate

Hello Hivers,

Today's card was inspired by a birthday invite I was asked to make for a friend.  I used some retired stamps on her invites, so I decided to remake the card with SAB items.  I colored the Springtime Foil SDSP with Stampin' Blends.  The flower was also colored using Blends...then Wink of Stella.  I added some Fine-Tip Glue to the veins of flower.  This card is so sparkly in person.

Thank You Eclectic Expressions

Hello Hivers,

Here's another fun card using the Eclectic Expressions stamp set.  I really like the way this turned out.  The colors look so good together.  I think the Myths & Magic Washi Tape add just the right amount of sparkle to the card.  I think I should try this design in other color combinations.  That will be fun.

Celebrate Springtime Foils

Hello Hivers,

Here's another card where I embossed the Springtime Foils SDSP and used it as the background.  When you use this paper to make a project it does most of the work for you.  I decorated the card using a strip from another sheet in this paper pack and die cut the word "celebrate" using the Celebrate You Thinlits in Copper Foil.

Heartfelt Hugs

Hello Hivers,

I started out making one card today...The "Thinking of You" card.  I stamped the floral image in Soft Suede and cut out the word HUGS with the Large Letters Framelits.  I colored in the empty space with Wink of Stella.  The letters that were left over were too pretty to throw out.  That is how I ended up making a second card.  I stamped the floral image in Calypso Coral and adhered the letters in place.  I used the  Lovely Inside & Out stamp set for part of the sentiment.  I really love the way these two cards turned out.  I may need to make more in different colors.

Double Springtime Foils

Hello Hivers,

These two cards were created using the scraps I had left over after making a few other cards.  The Springtime Foils SDDP is too pretty to let any of it go to waste.  I wanted these cards to be quick and simple.  I use the same basic layout for both cards and  I did very little stamping.  As you can see, on the Sweet Sugarplum card I only stamped a sentiment from the Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts stamp set.  On the other card I stamped a sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday and a little splatter image from the Waterfront stamp set.  The Lots of Labels Framelits added just the right touch of sophistication that I wanted these cards to have.

In Color Beautiful Peacock

Hello Hivers,

Todays cards feature the Sale-A-Bration set, Beautiful Peacock.  I also used a stamp from Eclectic Expressions to help create the background.  I did a watercolor wash on Shimmery White cardstock using Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum, and Flirty Flamingo ink.  I did all my stamping in Basic Black.  I added some Glitter
Enamel Dots to finish the cards off.  What do you think?  Cute, right.

Amazing Springtime Foils

Hello Hivers,

I love the card I am sharing today.  I used the Hexagons 3D Dynamic TIEF on the Springtime Foils SDSP and then sponged over it with So Saffron ink.  I kept the greeting simple by using a die cut word from the Celebrate You Thinlits.  I just really love the look of this one.

What do you think?

Epic Shoe Celebration

Hello Hivers,

I've been wanting to make a card with this shoe image for a while now.  I finally got around to it.  And the results are great. I paired the Epic Celebrations stamp set with the Bubble & Fizz DSP from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  I also added some Myths & Magic Washi Tape.  I don't know if you can see it, but I heat embossed the white portion of the shoes with Clear Embossing Powder mixed with a little Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes

Hello Hivers,

I am having fun using all of my Sale-A-Bration FREEBIES.  I have used three of them on this card.  The stamp set Happy Wishes, the Designer Series Paper Springtime Foils, and the card base from Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes.  The picture came out a little dark, the main color in this card is Calypso Coral.

What have you made with your FREE SAB products?

Heartfelt Blooms CASE

Hello Hivers,

I've done it again.  I have CASE'd this lovely card and can't remember where I found it.  I used the Heartfelt Blooms SAB stamp set along with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits.  I colored the ribbon using the Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend.  I'm not sure if this card would be considered Eclipse or Spotlighting.  It's a mixture of both.  I cut out several layers of cardstock to adhere under the heart shaped image.  I sponged it with a little color and added some Wink of Stella.

Silver & White Springtime Foils

Hello Hivers,

Today I decided to make a card and let the Designer Paper do all the work.  I simply cut out a few flowers from one sheet and  placed them on the card on top of two other designs from the Springtime Foils SDSP.  This card is so lovely in person.  The card shines in more ways than one.

We are more than half way through this month.  Sale-A-Bration is almost over.  Be sure to get your qualifying order in ASAP.  I am here for you, if you need me.

Faux Leather 3 Ways with Heat Embossing SBTD March Blog Hop

Hello Hivers,

Welcome to the March Stampers By The Dozen Blog Hop.  This month it was my turn to choose our theme.  I decided we should share different techniques using some type of Embossing and/or  creating Backgrounds.  I am sharing 3 different ways you can Heat Emboss and get the Faux Leather look.

This is going to be a long post.  I am adding step by step written instructions with photos and measurements for each project.

These are my four projects.

First up I have a medium sized purse with Faux leather sides, handle, and top flap.

Let me start by giving you the measurements for this purse.  I adapted measurements from a tutorial by Intatwyne Designs.  Click HERE to see my post with the Large Purse tutorial and link to Angelina's video tutorial.

This is what you will need:

DSP 5" x 5" (x2)

Cardstock:
Handle - 7.5" x 1" (x1) Score at 0.75" on each end

Sides - 7.5" x 5" (x2) Score Long Side at 5".  Score 0.50" on each end of Short Side

Front & Back - 9" x 5" (x2) Score at 5" on Long Side

Top/Front Flap - 5" x 5" (x1) Score at 1" and 3"

Now, on to the "How to" of the

Faux Leather Technique #1:

Step 1:  Stamp VersaMark all over the surface.  (I added my Tear & Tape before doing this so that it would adhere better.)

Step 2:  Pour Clear Embossing Powder over the entire surface with VersaMark on it.  (You can work in small sections if you wish.)

Step 3:  Take your Bone Folder and draw on the leather pattern of your choice.  Be sure to press hard enough to remove the Clear Embossing Powder.  Turn over and tap off excess powder.

Step 4:  Heat Emboss the area with the Clear Embossing Powder.  Repeat steps for each piece needed to complete your project.  Put everything together and enjoy.

Faux Leather Technique #2

Here I have a Faux Leather Wallet.  I tweaked a tutorial that I found on Splitcoast Stampers.  This wallet can hold a gift card, money, or anything else that is about that size.

Step 1:  Dry emboss your cardstock using the embossing folder of your choice. You may need to flip cardstock and emboss the other end depending on the size of your project.

4.25" x 7.25" cardstock

Step 2:  Sponge coordinating ink over the entire embossed surface, trying only to cover the raised portion of the pattern.

Step 3:  Stamp VersaMark all over the surface.  (You can work in small sections if you wish.)

Step 4:  Pour Clear Embossing Powder over the entire surface with VersaMark on it.

Step 5:  Heat Emboss the area with the Clear Embossing Powder.  Repeat steps for each piece needed to complete your project.  Put everything together and enjoy.

Here are some photos to help you complete the Faux Leather Wallet.

2" x 3" (x2) Score every 1/2" on long side.

Adhere to back of the main panel of wallet. I added coordinating DSP to the back of my Heat Embossed cardstock.

Fold up cardstock to adhere the other side of the side pieces.  Round the corners of the top portion of wallet (optional).

Decorate and enjoy.  (Note:  You will need a strong adhesive to add a magnetic or velcro closure.)  I used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere one half of my velcro closure to the Heat Embossed cardstock.

I had some extra cardstock that I had embossed so I made this cute little Lip Balm Holder.  It was made in the exact same way as the wallet.  4" x 4.25" for holder and 3" x 1" (x2) for sides.

 Faux Leather Technique #3

Here I have added my Faux Leather piece to a card.  It adds interest, texture, and dimension to the background .

Step 1:  Lightly spray cardstock with water on both sides.

Step 2:  Crumple up cardstock.  Carefully un-crumple and crumple again.

Step 3:  Carefully un-crumple cardstock, flatten it out and let it dry.  Once it is dry, ink raised surfaces with coordinating color. (You can use your heat tool to speed up the drying process.)

Step 4:  Stamp VersaMark all over the surface.

Step 5:  Pour Clear Embossing Powder over the entire surface with VersaMark on it.

Step 6:  Heat Emboss the area with the Clear Embossing Powder.  Repeat steps for each piece needed to complete your project.  Add it to your project and enjoy.

Here's another look at all four projects together.

Hop on over to Carly's blog...she is up next in the Blog Hop.

Paper Pumpkin March 2018 with Video

Hello Hivers,

I am so excited to share this Paper Pumpkin Kit with you all.  I was surprised to see it in my mailbox yesterday.  I ran right upstairs and made a video.  I love it.  The only sad part is that the kit SOLD OUT and there will not be any Refill Kits available.

I have provided some photos of the cards and envelopes that I put together using this kit.  I figured out that the included envelopes will fit in a standard A2 size envelope for easy mailing.

Don't forget, Stampin' Up! is having a great promotion right now with the Paper Pumpkin for NEW subscribers.  You can get 50% off of your first 2 months with Paper Pumpkin.  Remember to subscribe by May 10, 2018 to take advantage of this great offer.

Enter the code:  SAVEFIFTY0418 when subscribing HERE.

I have a video unboxing the March 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit and putting one of the chards and envelopes together for you.  Enjoy.
