April My Paper Pumpkin and Sneak Peek

Hello Hivers,

Here is the wreath I made using this months Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I think it came out well.  (Sorry for the shadow.) This project was super fun and easy to put together.  Below I have posted just a few alternate project ideas that were featured on the  SU! blog.

Alternate Projects using the April 2016 Paper Pumpkin Refill Kit:

Christmas, Mother's Day, and much more.

Lovely Little Wreath Refill Kit    139197
Price: $8.00
(April 2016)

Contains supplies for 1 wreath

Your kit includes:

• 1 foam wreath form
• 1 frame with twine
• 12 sheets of leaf cutouts
• 4 sheets of cotton paper flowers
• 1 sheet of chalkboard tags
• 1 sheet of die-cut branches
• 5 ft. of vanilla cotton ribbon
• 50 adhesive dots

* Must be a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber to order this item.

Earlier this month at our demonstrator OnStage event, attendees had a chance to sneak peek the May kit, so it’s only fair to give you a peek too! The Many Manly Occasions kit will include 8 laser-cut cards and envelopes and we know you’ll love it. Share this image with your friends online and tell them to subscribe by May 10 to get a kit.

A closer look at the Alternate Projects from the Stampin' Up! blog:

It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas, right? It’s easy to turn the Lovely Little Wreath into a holiday décor item. Simply swap out the yellow flowers for holly berries and use a holiday stamp on the chalkboard sign.

Next, with Mother’s Day right around the corner, add some festive foliage to create a glamorous gift box for Mom. Use the chalkboard tags and Very Vanilla Craft Stampin’ Spot from the kit.

Raise your hand if you’ve picked up on the cactus trend. They’re everywhere, right? Create some eye-catching cacti with beautiful desert blooms with the extra flowers and leaves from your kit.

The bent leaves on the branches pop right off this prehistoric card. And, might we say . . . the end result is dino-mite!

Finally, keep it simple with a smaller version of the wreath to create a stunning centerpiece for a card front.

It’s always amazing to see what you can do with your Paper Pumpkin kit. Whether you want to change it up completely, or just use up the extra parts and pieces, the end result is always fun! If you’ve fallen in love with the Lovely Little Wreath, be sure to stock up on refills, while supplies last.

Corner Fold Birthday

Hello Hivers,

I had so much fun making this set of Corner Fold Birthday cards.  I followed the instructions given by Kay Kalthoff.  She has a step by step video tutorial.  I made two each in Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron, and Crushed Curry.  The sentiment on the cake came from the retired SAB stamp set, Party Pants. I used the Party Wishes stamp set for everything else.  The fun DSP is from the It's My Party stack.

Party Banner

Hello Hivers,

Here is a card I made using the Party Wishes stamp set and the It's My Party Designer Series Paper stack.  I also added some of the coordinating Baker's Twine.  The little candles were punched using the Party Punch Pack.  I purchased the stamp set and the punches in a bundle and saved 15%.

Tiny Easter Bags

Hello Hivers,

These are the last of the treats that I made for my children.  I found the instructions for them here.  I  used a 6" x 3" piece of the Cherry on Top DSP.  These bags are tiny.  I used some of the retired SAB Metallics Glitter Tape to decorate the bags and finished them off with a Teeny Tiny Wishes tag using the Word Window punch.

Easter Treat Holder

Hello Hivers,

Here are a few of the treats I made for the children in my life.  I found the instructions for these cuties over on Pootles blog.  To make the shorter holders I just simply cut them in half.  I used different shades of each color to stamp on Whisper White card stock using the Work of Art stamp set.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set punched out using the Word Window punch.  I just used the back side of the piece that was punched from the treat holders.

One of my children is allergic to chocolate ( I know...the poor thing), so I filled his with his favorite candy...Nerds, the others held 9 Hershey chocolate eggs.  If I remember correctly, the shorter ones held 4 eggs.

Get Well Soon

Hello Hivers,

Here is the 2nd part of 3 parts to my One Sheet Wonder from last week.  I used a technique called paper piecing to put this card together.   I used Mint Macaron and Hello Honey card stock to make the bowl of soup with a Silver Glimmer heart.  The card base is Blackberry Bliss layered with Whisper White and a strip from the It's My Party DSP stack.  I really enjoyed making these projects.  Wait until you see what I have for you on Wednesday.  I think you will be pleased.

In the Meadow Trio

Hello Hivers,

I'm not sure if I ever shared this, but nature stamps are one of my favorites.  They are so versatile and can be used anytime of the year.  I combined two stamp sets to complete my cards.  I used In the Meadow and Timeless Texture stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog. I seen these cards on Pinterest and thought I would make something similar.

As always, thanks for buzzzing by the Hive.

Flying Birthday

Hello Hivers,

This card was made for one of my friends.  I had an extra Sky is the Limit stamp set and I wanted to give it to her.  I tucked the card in with the set and shipped it off.  I just love the font that was used for the sentiments in this SAB stamp set.   I used the Clear Wink of Stella on some of the clouds just to add a little more texture.

CASE'd Note Card OSW

Hello Hivers,

I just recently found out that I like using the Whisper White and Crumb Cake Note Card & Envelopes from SU!  Who knew?  I bought them long ago and never used them because, well, I don't really know.  But when I seen Angie Juda make some note cards using her One Sheet Wonder (OSW) template, I just had to try it.  I used the same layout as her, but I changed up the designer paper and stamp set.  I used the It's My Party DSP stack and the SAB stamp set, Party Pants.  I also used the Party Punch Pack to add a little more dazzle to the birthday cards.
