Thoughts and Prayers

Hello Hivers,

Here is the other Sympathy card I made for my husband. I really love these colors together. I love, love, love my Color Wheel. It makes it so easy to put the right colors together. I used Bravo Burgundy card stock and ribbon. I also used Mellow Moss and Very Vanilla card stock. I got a chance to use my new Oval Scallop punch (available 4.1.09). I sponged Bravo Burgundy around the edges before adhering it to the main image. I also added a Jumbo Eyelet and some Linen Thread.

Until next time.....

I Can See Clearly Now......

Hello Hivers,

My husband asked me to make this card for him. Two of his coworkers had a death in their family. This is what I came up with. I love this stamp set. The colors on this card are so awesome together. Let me know what you think. I can't wait to hear from you.
Oh, I will show you the second card I made for his other coworker tomorrow. Thanks for buzzzing by.

Supplies: Night of Navy card stock, ink and ribbon; More Mustard and Very Vanilla card stock; retired Hodge Podge Hardware, and Thoughts and Prayers stamp set.

It's All Coming Back

Hello Hivers,

I think I am getting my "MOJO" back. I made this card for an old SCS sketch challenge (sc28). I wanted to use my new set Soft Summer stamp set (available 4/1/09). This is what I came up with. I think it turned out pretty good. Don't you? I used Brocade Blue, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla card stock. I also used Old Olive ribbon and brads. I water colored the 4 light blue flowers and the main image is faux water colored. I colored the image with my markers right onto the stamp, sprayed with a mist of water and then stamped onto my paper. I also used the Torn Edge technique. Until next time.....

High Hopes

Hello Hivers,
This card started out with great possibilities. I love the Brocade Blue card stock. I used the Classy Brass Template-Seeing Spots to make the circles on the background. Good so far. I stamped the main image from the Welcome Home set onto Whisper White card stock and mounted it on Pink Passion....still going fine. The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip and mounted. Time to put it all together....Here is where everything fell apart. It just didn't come together the way I planned. High Hopes down the drain.

Hello Hivers,
Sorry I have been missing in action. I have had stampers block. I mean it has been a rough week trying to come up with some cards. I do my best work when I have a reason to make the card. If I just want to make a card I can't think of anything. I made a few cards that I will be sharing with you this week. Most of which are horrible. I thought about it and decided to post them anyway. I made them so I wanted you to see that even experienced stampers make bad cards sometimes.

Did you know that NOW is the best time for you to join my Stampin' Up! team? During Sale-A-Bration Stampin' Up! is offering the Starter Kit for the discounted price of $169.00 in addition to the great Demonstrator Benefits. That is a 15% savings. But wait! There is more.......Stampin' Up! is now offering a 3 Easy Payments Option--available now through April 30, 2009. You can break up the payment of the starter kit into 3 payments and start your business with the 1st initial payment.

Contact me ASAP to take advantage of both these great deals. Get the starter kit for $169 and break the payments up into 3 easy payments (ends 3/31/09).

After March 31st, the starter kit will be available for $199 and you can still take advantage of the 3 easy payments option until 4/30/09.

Becky's Tote-ally Awesome Tote - CASE

Hello Hivers,
I spent three days making today's project. It does not take that long to make, however, I just had to make mine faux leather. That takes a while to do all the pieces. Then there is the fact that I couldn't decided what stamp set to use with this project. I finally decided to use True Friends and Boho Backgrounds due to the fact that leather reminds me of Cowboys and these sets are a bit cowboyish...right.

(post it note holder)
Well, I got the tutorial for this project from Inking Idaho's blog. She does great work. I can't come up with stuff like this. I can however copy just about anything...LOL. I think my Tote looks more like a briefcase. I changed a couple of things on my tote. I put the three small pockets on the inside, I added 4 gift tags and did not include the pen. The other items in the tote are 4 cards w/envelopes, post it note holder, and 2 book markers.
(book markers) (gift tags)

Prehistoric Birthday

Hello Hivers,

Isn't this card just darling. I made this for another of my sons classmates. We will be going to his party soon. I love the way this card turned out.
We learned how to make this type of card at Regionals. I'm not sure what it's called. I call it the accordion fold card.

What you need:
Card Stock-
cut @ 4 1/4 x 11
score @ 1 3/8; 2 1/2; 4 3/8; 6; 8 1/4
Fold on score lines accordion style.

Card Stock - cut @ 4 1/4 x 5

You will also need 3 pieces of white or other light colored card stock to stamp images on. Those should be cut a 1/4" smaller than each space on the Accordion Card. You will also have to cut out some of your images so that they can be placed in such a way to go over the top of that section. It will give the card a layered look. This card will fit in a standard card envelope. It is free standing as well. Have fun making your own Accordion Card. Leave me a comment with a link to your card.
Supplies:
Garden Green and Very Vanilla card stock
More Mustard, Summer Sun, Garden Green, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Realy Rust Classic ink, spnonges, paper snips, Prehistoric Pals , All Holidays and Wild About You stamp sets.

3x3 Purse Tutorial

Hello Hivers,
I have gotten lots of request to give a tutorial on how to make this Note Card Purse.
I don't have step by step pictures to show you......sorry. It is very simple and you should understand how to put it together from the directions.....Here we go.

You will need:

--Inside Pockets--
2 pieces of card stock--5 1/4" x 3 3/4"
**score at 1/2" and 1" on both short ends and one long end.

--Purse--
1 piece of card stock--7 1/2" x 3 1/2"
**score at 3 1/4" flip and repeat on opposite end.

--Purse Flap--
Cut out one Stampin' Up! Top Note out of card stock.
**cover with VersaMark ink and then cover with Clear Embossing Powder.

Use your Bone Folder and make lines to create a design that resembles alligator skin. Be sure to press hard when making your lines...blow off excess powder. Heat emboss.

Apply sticky strip to 1/2 of the back of the Top Note. Bend as if you were going to fold in half to find center and punch 2 holes for ribbon to make your strap. Tie a knot on each end of ribbon after inserted through the holes.

Apply sticky strip to outside edge on all sides scored on Inside Pockets. Attach to inside of purse, one on each side.

Attach top not to the back of purse. Punch hole in the Top Note above the center point and apply a Designer brad. Apply Velcro dot on back of brad and adhere to front of purse.

Be sure to design your purse before you put anything together. The cards that will fit inside should be cut at 6x3 and scored at 3.

Enjoy.

*Note: my purse and cards are smaller. These note cards are no longer available so I made the tutorial for 3x3 cards.

Until next time.....
